Recipe Thursday-Stromboli

Stromboli is definitely a comfort food for me! I grew up with my Mom making this dish and was a consistent meal request for special occasions. It is an easy main dish and is perfect for entertaining a large group. I made it this past weekend for a Fall Fest. Aside from enjoying it the first time around it reheats nicely. Hopefully it will become one of your favorite dishes too!

Stromboli

Yield 4 Stromboli
Ingredients

4 1-pound dough balls (559304)
mustard (991253)
oregano (CQo075)
1 pound sliced white american cheese (771050)
1 pound shredded mozzarella (775553)
1 pound ground beef (222022)
1 pound Italian sausage (GRF436)
1 pound chipped ham (FRD105-2)
1/4 pound chipped pepperoni (440022)
1/4 pound chipped hard salami (441003)
olive oil (992055)
pizza Sauce (990295)

Method
Thaw dough, if frozen. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook ground beef and Italian sausage. Roll out bread dough to the size of 16 x 8 inch. Spread mustard in the center of the rectangle. Assemble in order of ingredients. Fold ends of the stromboli in and overlap the sides. Roll stromboli over onto a cookie sheet and top with olive oil. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Serve with heated pizza sauce.
